Hospitality Media Group’s bicoastal trade fairs grew in attendance, number of exhibitors and net square feet of exhibit space
CINCINNATI, OH, February 23, 2015 – Boutique Design New York (BDNY) and sister trade fair Boutique Design West (BDwest) are honorees in the just-released Trade Show Executive (TSE) Fastest 50, the annual ranking of the year’s fastest-growing trade events. Winners for 2014 will be honored at the Fastest 50 Awards & Summit, May 19-21, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Each year, TSE recognizes the 50 fastest-growing shows in three categories: net square feet of exhibit space, number of exhibiting companies and total attendance. Of the 91 unique shows receiving honors this year, 16 were growth leaders in all three metric categories. Both BDNY and BDwest, which serve the hospitality design market, were in that group.
“The response to these trade fairs has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Michelle Finn, President, Hospitality Media Group, and SVP, ST Media Group. “This is tangible proof that the hospitality design industry was ready for a more specialized sourcing experience.”
Launched in 2010 by HMG and ST Media Group’s Boutique Design, BDNY has seen double-digit growth each year since its inception, and was ranked No. 1 in two of the three metric categories in last year’s TSE Fastest 50. Co-located with the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS), BDNY takes place each November at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
BDwest debuted in 2013, catering to hospitality design professionals in the Western U.S., Mexico and Central America. For its third run, April 8-9 in San Diego, BDwest will expand to 45,000 square feet of exhibit space to accommodate 300+ manufacturers and marketers of hospitality FF&E. Some 1,700 designers, architects, owners, developers, hoteliers and purchasing specialists are expected to attend.
