More about Richelle Walkley ›Rebecca Bertrand has been in the Interior Design world for over 20 years. She is an NCIDQ certified Designer with over 12 years of direct design experience. She is currently and Account Executive with Milliken flooring (carpet and LVT for both commercial and hospitality products). Rebecca started on the board as NEWH Secretary, worked as Membership director, chair-elect and is now Steering Chair for the Vancouver Region for 2022-23. Rebecca has been a member of NEWH for years and got involved to support the scholarship program. Her passion for NEWH continues as she has seen the scholarship winners and students grow in the industry and become future leaders. In her spare time she plays soccer, skiis, does yoga and is known for her Instagram food stories.
Tammy has been in the flooring and paint industry for many years. First as a co-owner of a flooring store, then as an owner of a Benjamin Moore paint store. In 2016 Tammy moved into the specification world, and is currently the Account Executive for Tarkett Commercial and Tarkett Hospitality. Tammy enjoys hiking, kayaking, cooking and reading when not cheering for her son when he is competing in sports. She is an avid Football and Basketball fan, her son being her favorite player.
Harpreet Bahga has been a NEWH Committee volunteer since 2020. Over the last two years she has helped with the Social Media/Marketing Committee and recently taken on the role of Secretary. She is passionate about helping students and young professionals enter the Interior Design and Hospitality industries. She is currently a Technical Coordinator at Bermanfalk Hospitality Group. Harpreet is also currently completing her Bachelor’s of Interior Design full time. When she is not working fulltime, immersed in her studies, or fulfilling her NEWH board duties you can find her hiking, snowboarding or exploring the beautiful mountains in British Columbia!
James has been a member of the Vancouver hospitality industry dating back to his days as a chef in the 1990s. Today James is the Business Development Manager at Westport Manufacturing where they provide window treatments and interior decor items for hospitality.
As a long-standing member of NEWH, James was invited to serve on the Vancouver steering committee in 2014. After various roles he is now the Past Chair / Executive Advisor.
Being part of NEWH has deepened his appreciation for the hospitality and design communities and James is excited about the future of our industry. When he’s not working or networking, James is happiest spending time in the beautiful BC outdoors.
With family ties to the Interior Design industry, it’s no surprise that James enjoys keeping up on the latest trends. He has a keen interest in technology and sustainable options to keep our industry happy and healthy for many years to come.
Richelle Walkley has been in the Interior Design industry for over 5 years and has been an NEWH Committee member since 2021. Her past role on the board was Social Media/Marketing Committee and has recently taken on the role of Scholarship Director. Richelle is passionate about helping students and young professionals enter the Interior Design and Hospitality industries and promote them as our future leaders! When she is not working or fulfilling her NEWH board duties, Richelle can be found in the mountains snowboarding, hiking, biking or playing volleyball at one of Vancouver’s beautiful beaches.
