Three hotel-company visionaries to be honored at BDwest trade fair and conference in Los Angeles, March 31-April 1
CINCINNATI, OH, March 29, 2016 – Boutique Design magazine has revealed its 2016 Up-and-Coming Hoteliers honorees: Jason Pomeranc, Partner, SIXTY Hotels; Jay Stein, CEO, Dream Hotel Group; and Barry Sternlicht, Chairman & CEO, Starwood Capital Group.
Launched in 2015, this accolade honors the forces behind young brands in the hospitality industry that are changing expectations for how hotels look and function. The 2016 honorees will be inducted during a March 30 ceremony at the Conga Room at LA Live, preceding the fourth annual Boutique Design West (BDwest) trade fair and conference, to be held March 31-April 1 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
To qualify for the Up-and-Coming Hoteliers program, the nominee’s hotel company must have been launched or re-launched since Jan. 1, 2011, have no more than 10 hotels, and have a currently active pipeline. The nominee must demonstrate excellence in design across all properties in his or her portfolio.
David Kuperberg, Chief Development Officer, Dream Hotel Group, will accept on behalf of Jay Stein; Lisa Zandee, SVP–Marketing, SH Group, will accept on behalf of Barry Sternlicht. Kuperberg, Pomeranc and Zandee will take part in a panel discussion, “Boutique Design’s 2016 Up-and-Coming Hoteliers,” moderated by Boutique Design Executive Editor and HMG’s Conference Director, Mary Scoviak, on Thursday, March 31, at BDwest.
The BDwest conference program runs concurrently with the two-day trade fair, which is expanding for 2016 to accommodate 40,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. More than 2,500 hospitality design professionals from the western U.S., Hawaii, Mexico, Latin America and beyond are expected to attend BDwest, including interior designers, architects and purchasing executives as well as hospitality owners, developers and operators.
Registration options for BDwest 2016 include: Exhibit hall pass for attendees, $75; exhibit hall pass for non-exhibiting manufacturers or manufacturer reps, $300; two-day trade fair and conference session pass, $175; and one-day trade fair and conference session pass, $100.

Founding Chapter’s Hospitality Fashion Challenge Runway Event & Cocktail Reception on Thursday, March 31, at Exchange LA; and the Boutique Design Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality Breakfast & Panel Discussion on Friday, April 1, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
