Studio Grey gets creative in the revamp of a Minnesota hostel

Housed in an early 20th-century mansion across the street from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Minneapolis Hostel first made its debut as boarding rooms in the 1930s. Since then, the property has undergone \"patchy updates and was in need of a robust refresh,\" says Amanda Maday, owner and design director at Studio Grey, the local firm behind the renovation of the 15-room property. Accessibility upgrades were most essential to this new chapter, she adds, \"but we wanted to preserve the original character.\"
