In 6th grade I had to write a research paper on the career that I would like to pursue in the future. I landed upon “Interior Designer” and had a passion for the arts. This was the early 70s. By the late 70s, I was convinced that a pursuit in business was the best way to go so off to business school I went for a degree in accounting/finance.

It took what seemed to be another lifetime to eventually get myself back in school, studying Interior Design at Harrington Institute in the early 90s. This bio is to be about “me” and not the job, per se, but after some setbacks in life, it was really my career that kept me sane and optimistic about the future.

I met the love of my life (Michael) in the mid 90s (at work, of course) and it took another 6 or so years before the stars aligned for us to ponder a relationship beyond being friends. It was extremely weird at first but we quickly adjusted (tee hee).

Over my life, I have had almost 30 addresses, went to 4 high schools, grew up in rural communities transitioned to city living as an adult for 10 years, lived in the Chicago ‘burbs for nearly 20 years and now reside in the horse country of Prescott, Arizona. I love that I have had all these great experiences and changes in environment starting at a very early age.

I am grateful to say that my parents are living in Florida at 88 and 90 years old. They are well and I hope the strong genes have transferred to me as well as my older brother and sister. Yes, I am the “baby”. Ha.

A great day for me is watching the sunrise peek over the horizon, taking a walk with my Theo (12 yo border collie), talking to my Mom, reading next to my husband outside somewhere, hiking on a nearby trail, having friends over for cocktails and/or dinner, watching a good movie (or trying to get through Breaking Bad), catching another amazing Arizona sunset, and falling asleep while reading (thrillers and suspense genres preferred) in bed next to Michael and Theo. Yep, that is what I call a pretty great day!

What’s next? As my grandmother would say…”we’ll see”!

My career travels have taken me from California to New York; but I’ve stayed connected to my “home base”, Arizona. To understand my personality is to understand that I come from a tight knit family with two brothers and that I’ve remained down to earth and dedicated to success. Athletics throughout my life led to the development of a competitive spirit that fuels me to compete and succeed. I enjoy baseball, cooking, exercise & nutrition.

In management roles for over a decade I pride myself in being a strong and loyal team leader that leads by example and sets clear expectations.

– A well-built team, given a clearly communicated strategy, along with the essential support and encouragement will be not only successful, but they will be eager to succeed and achieve above and beyond.
– As goals serve to establish objectives; incentives should inspire achievement beyond those objectives. Neither should be easy nor impossible.

Designing exclusively for the hospitality industry for 13 years and and now as a Project Manager, Design Brand Management at Best Western Hotels & Resorts, what I enjoy most about hospitality is that it is always evolving and there is never a dull moment! When not in the office I enjoy traveling and hiking throughout the beautiful Arizona deserts and mountains. Best advice: “Measure Twice, Cut Once”. Beth’s certifications include NCIDQ, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, is currently studying for the LEED GA exam and is also a member of ASID.
